Six steps

From first conversation to move-in

Whether you’re starting from scratch on a custom home or reworking the house you have, we guide you through every phase, from concept to completion.

Initial consultation
We start with a personal consultation to understand your vision, needs, budget and timeline. Whether it’s a ground-up custom home or a targeted remodel, we listen carefully to learn what matters most to you.

Design & planning
For custom homes, we work closely with designers to develop plans that fit your style, how you live and your lot. For renovations, we assess the existing structure, explore layout ideas and make sure everything lines up with your goals.
We handle design coordination, feasibility assessments, and preliminary budgets and timelines.

Permits & pre-construction
Our team handles the permit process, site prep and all pre-construction logistics. We stay in touch through this phase so you feel informed and confident before we break ground.

Build phase
This is where your plans take shape. Our crews and subcontractors do the work with care, with consistent oversight and communication from foundation to final finishes.
On renovations we take extra care to protect your home, keep disruption down and keep the work area safe and clean.

Finishes & walkthrough
We guide you through material selections, fixture choices and final design touches. As the project nears completion, we schedule a thorough walkthrough to make sure everything meets our standards and yours.

Completion & move-in
We hand over your finished home with information on maintenance, warranties and ongoing support. We stand behind our work and are here after you move in. See the Harrod Built warranty.

Who you work with

One family team, start to finish

Michael Harrod, the licensed general contractor, stays involved from the first design conversation to the final walkthrough. His brother Chris manages each job day to day: the schedule, the subcontractors and the details.

So you always know who to call, and the people you meet at the start are the people who finish the job.
