How the job runs
The same way we run every Harrod Built project: a licensed family team and one point of contact from start to finish. On an addition we take extra care to protect the rest of your home and keep the work area safe and clean.

Harrod Built is run by brothers Michael and Chris Harrod (CSLB #986950). Michael is the licensed general contractor and stays involved from the first design conversation to the final walkthrough.

Chris runs the job day to day: the schedule, the subcontractors and the details. You always know who to call.

Our team handles the permit process, site prep and pre-construction logistics, and keeps you informed before ground is broken.

Regular updates through every phase, help with finish selections, and a final walkthrough before handover, backed by our warranty.

How long does a home addition take?
It runs in stages: planning, permits, then construction. The timeline depends on the size of the addition and the county review. We plan the schedule up front and keep it moving.
Do I need a permit for a home addition?
Almost always. Zoning, size, setbacks and utility connections all need approval, and the same goes for ADUs and garage conversions. Skipping it can mean fines or redoing work. We handle the county permitting for you.
